What an estimate is worth before the moisture map exists, why the equipment stays until the meters agree, whose decisions the claim decisions are, and who is doing the drying. Read it once, preferably before the water heater lets go.
The estimate follows the moisture map
What you hear on the phone is a range from the pricing page, and it is presented as one. The written estimate comes after the inspection and the moisture map, because the map is what says how far the water went. It moves only if the water went farther than the first map could show, into a wall cavity or under a floor that read dry on day one, and that finding is put to you with its cost before any added work happens. The claim file carries the same figures you were given.
The equipment stays until the meters agree
Machine drying usually runs three to five days after extraction, around the clock. The dehumidifiers and air movers belong to the crew and come out when wood, drywall and framing reach dry-standard, not on a calendar date.
Your claim, your decisions
The record is built for your claim and handed to you: photos before the work, daily readings, an itemized scope. Whether a loss is covered is decided by your policy and your insurer, and nothing on this site or in an estimate promises coverage. Where a repair decision has two defensible answers, you hear both with a price on each and you make the call.
Sewage jobs are different
A backed-up line puts contaminated water into living space, and the rules change: containment first, removal of what cannot be saved, disinfection, then drying. The scope for those jobs lists what comes out and why, and it is agreed before the first bag is filled.
This site is not an emergency line
The request form and the phone line both take messages, and each request is passed to the company that does the work, which answers by callback. If water is coming in right now, shut it off at the main first. If anyone is in danger, from live electrics in standing water or anything else, call 911 before you call anyone.

Who is running the dehumidifiers
What this website does is get your request to one independent local water damage company. That company inspects the house, writes the estimate and does the work, and the work is its to stand behind from first reading to last. Ask that company for proof of insurance at the inspection; a crew that does this work expects the question and has the answer ready.
